So long, self!

Went to Winter Jam last night. I wasn't really "into it" until MercyMe came out, and they were fabulous. It was a really powerful experience, and I felt closer to God than I have in, well, a while. It was really encouraging to see all those other believers, and to be surrounded by such a positive energy.
Even if I don't have any ear drums today. :]

We left at about 12:30 yesterday, and we went to the Lansing Mall for a late lunch (better than standing in line!). Some of us girls went off and wandered, Mindy and I trying on corsets in Charlotte Russe and all of us trying on prom dresses in Deb. From there, we piled back in the van and drove the rest of the way to MSU, finally getting our places in line and freezing out little totsies off for about an hour and a half. When we got inside, it was kind of chaotic, especially because Samantha was so excited! We found seats, and while everyone else went out to look around, I sat and "did homework"--a.k.a. wrote a new AT. (ha.) The concert started with some little kids who did flips and sang and stuff, and it was pretty uneventful, epsecially when they were followed by a group with fros. The show started (sure took long enough!) after some BMX biking, and Newsong totally rocked. They had a member who graduated from MSU and played the cello and electric violin and piano, and Amber and I are going to marry him. After Newsong was Skillet (I think. I might be forgetting something...) who were alright, I guess. Not too big of a fan, considering that their pyrotechnics almost seared off my eyebrows...! Then some talking, then an intermission... THEN BARLOW GIRL. Ahem. They were really cool, and they played two songs that I know. :]. There was a no-publicity group called Connersvine (they were decent) before MercyMe played.

More when I get home, maybe...?

:]
